The Objective

For The Brick Business to find a way of assisting independent bricklaying businesses aligned to them to navigate the complexities of recruiting, employing, managing and retaining employees, apprentices and casuals; and to reduce the stress related with people management and compliance.

The Solution

The development of a set of of readily available, industry-specific information packs consisting of fully customised HR documents, forms, templates and onboarding guidelines to help these business owners with the implementation of legally complaint HR & Safety processes and procedures.

To make the process even less complicated, Dovetail developed two sets of information packs. One pack specifically for business owners which includes OH&S policies, contract templates, forms, standard operating procedures, Fair Work Award information and what to consider when taking on an employee; and another pack specifically for employees which covers relevant induction handbooks, a safety management plan, checklists and workplace policies.

The Outcome

The Brick Business can now offer these packs to their clients as part of their service offering - something unique in the industry. Business owners can focus on their businesses, knowing guidelines and documentation they have in place for the employees is legal and Fair Work compliant and aligned to WorkSafe recommendations. In addition, businesses can include their name and branding on these documents to enhance their image and professionalism.
