Australian Service Excellence Awards - Gold Coast

The Objective

To celebrate the best in Australian customer service on a new stage - Queensland.

To deliver CSIA’s flagship awards evening to over 400 delegates at a 5-star venue.

To create a high-impact, high-value experience for guests, finalists, sponsors and stakeholders.

The Solution

With the event heading to Queensland for the first time, Dovetail helped CSIA make a statement. The Star Gold Coast was selected as a one-stop venue that balanced professionalism with celebration.

We created a new diamond-inspired “facet” visual theme - dynamic, animated, and aligned to CSIA’s corporate colours which flowed through every element. From initial sponsorship packs to stage slides, we gave each award category a distinctive colour and identity, ensuring seamless storytelling across the evening.

A sleek, investment-focused sponsorship brochure was developed to highlight ROI and secure high-value partnerships. To support CSIA’s internal promotions, we delivered a complete graphics kit with imagery, mastheads, finalist trust marks and more.The awards ceremony itself required precision. With over 20 awards presented - each recognising all finalists, the Highly Commended, the Service Champion or Hero, and the ultimate winner - the show had to shine. Voiceovers, video, and audio synced across a multi-track slide deck created a choreographed visual experience that moved with elegance.

We wrapped the event with detailed commemorative booklets, a 10-metre media wall, event signage, photo booth graphics, and an interactive “Customer Crush” video game to drive engagement and prizes before guests even entered the ballroom.

The Result

CSIA’s first Queensland event was its most cost-effective ASEA yet, but none of the polish was sacrificed. Guests were stunned by the quality of the show, the professionalism of the delivery, and the joy of the experience.

Multiple camera crews captured everything, from on-stage wins to candid interviews. The photo booth was in demand all night. The “Customer Crush” game lit up the foyer during pre-drinks, sparking smiles and selfies.

Sponsors, finalists, and delegates left buzzing. And CSIA continues to use the graphic assets, themes and logos long after the night itself - a testament to the lasting impact of great design and strategy.
